Like it's North American sibling SerialChannel, SerialChannelSky allow you to schedule recordings and change the channel on the Sky box effortlessly -the way EyeTv was intended to work. With SerialChannelSky installed and Dusky Control hardware, changing the channel is as simple as changing the channel on EyeTV.
Dusky Control Hardware
Dusky-Control is a high quality usb solution for controlling your Sky Box. Best of all this is not a IR Blaster hack. With Dusky Control and SerialChannelSky, you get a clean and simple installation without any visible wires on the front of your box.
This is what you need:
1. Purchase a USB Dusky Control from Dusky-Control.com
2. Purchase SerialChannelSky
Installation:
1. Download libusb (OS X 10.5.x here or here ) (OS X 10.4.x here) and install
2. Install SerialChannelSky
3. Connect Dusky-control usb hardware
4. Setup EyeTV to use external box. Instructions found here.
TroubleShooting:
- dyld: Library not loaded: /usr/local/lib/libusb-0.1.4.dylib
- usb_claim_interface failed: Undefined error: 0
sky_usb_sendcommand failed: Undefined error: 0
libusb is not installed. libusb is a requirement and must be installed.
The SCSkyDummy.kext is not installed or a reboot is required. Check /System/Library/Extensions of it's exsistence. Reboot system if necessary.
